Killer Mike- Pledge Allegiance to the grind II
Killer Mike: I Pledge Allegiance to the Grind II
(4 out of 5 stars)

To the untrained ear, Mike is a reproduction of all the characteristics that made Ice Cube great. Fittingly, his first and most controversial single, “Pressure”, features Ice Cube. Because of this track alone, this album is a must have for any hip-hop enthusiast. But, don’t get me wrong, the intelligent lyrics and well-produced beats don’t stop there. In fact, this album rivals the first edition of I Pledge Allegiance to the Grind, which was often overlooked and completely underrated. Because Killer Mike finally gets together with some of the games better producers, his voice stands out as one of the best in a while. Guest appearances from Chamillionare, Ice Cube, 8ball and MJG, and Shawty Lo only bolster the already impressive performance. Despite his obvious Southern style, this album is for all people who love hip-hop and are sick of the same old rhymes about money, women, and material objects. I won’t go as far as to say this is a classic, but if you fail to give this album a spin it truly is your loss. So unlike most people, who will be unfortunately checking out G-Unit’s latest attempt at hip-hop, you have been shown the light.
